There is a question that closes almost every brand meeting in the market, and it is the wrong question: do you like it or not. A company's identity does not exist to please whoever approves it. It exists to produce a precise effect in the mind of whoever the company wants to win over. To decide by taste is to confuse the target with the shooter.
Núcleo Parceiro (NP) works from a different principle. We do not decide by intuition or by trend. We gather primary data from the client's real audience, process it with rigour and interpret it under a psychological and management lens. Only then do we design. We call that protocol the Scientific Method of Brand.
Why taste misleads
The first foundation comes from the psychology of decision-making. Daniel Kahneman proposed that thought operates in two modes. System 1 is fast, automatic, intuitive and driven by emotional association. System 2 is slow, deliberate and analytical. Most brand decisions, the sense of trust, the choice of a supplier, the intention to proceed, occur under the rule of System 1.
The consequence is uncomfortable for those who decide by taste. If your client's client reacts first through emotion and only then looks for reasons, then the brand's identity has to communicate with that intuitive mode before any argument. And what pleases those who approve internally is almost never the same thing that activates the decision of those on the outside.
To decide the brand without data from the public is to accept that one may be systematically wrong about what that public feels.
Emotion is not the opposite of reason
The second foundation deepens the first. António Damásio showed that seemingly rational decisions are modulated by unconscious affective responses anchored in bodily memory, which he called somatic markers. Emotion does not hinder reason: it is the base on which reason works.
Applied to the brand, this has a direct implication. The colour palette, the typography and the tone of an identity are not ornaments. They are stimuli that do or do not activate the affective markers compatible with the position the company wants to occupy. This is why, at NP, the colour of a project is never chosen by preference: it is chosen by the markers it activates in the public identified during research. Research precedes design, always.
The structuring and execution of our services is a conclusion, not a proposal. Every decision, whether visual, verbal or managerial, carries a documented justification. Methodological principle of Núcleo Parceiro
The NP way: a scientific process with a creative output
This is where NP sets itself apart from an agency. What separates us is not the final creativity, it is the path to it. The Scientific Method of Brand is a scientific process with a creative output: the conclusion is creative, the path is rigorous. Every service has a foundation and a function.
Organisational Immersion ensures that the intervention starts from the real, and not from assumptions about the client. Opinion Research ensures that positioning rests on data from the public, and not on internal impressions. Competitive Benchmarking situates the brand against the market. And Visual Architecture translates all of this into decisions of form that produce the intended perceptual effect in the first instants of contact.
There is, in the NP method, no design decision without a documented argument of perception behind it.
What the client receives is not, therefore, a well-wrapped preference. It is a conclusion that can be explained, defended before a shareholder and verified. When someone asks why the brand turned out this way, there is an answer that does not depend on anyone's taste. That is the difference between an aesthetic choice and a reasoned decision.
Frequently asked questions
What is Núcleo Parceiro's Scientific Method of Brand?
It is Núcleo Parceiro's (NP) internal protocol that translates scientific evidence into brand decisions. It gathers primary data from the real public, interprets it through a psychological and managerial lens, and only then designs. The conclusion is creative; the path is rigorous.
Why should brand decisions not be made by taste?
Because most purchasing decisions operate intuitively and emotionally, not rationally. Deciding the identity by personal preference ignores how the public actually perceives the brand, and accepts the risk of being systematically wrong.
What scientific foundations support the NP method?
Among others, Kahneman's two systems of thought, Damásio's somatic markers and research on perception in milliseconds. Every visual decision is justified by the signal it sends to the identified target audience.
